AERODROME FLIGHT INFORMATION SERVICE OFFICER

Prerequisites

  • Demonstrate fluency in the English language to IELTS 5.5 or above in
    order to satisfy the requirements of ICAO English Level 4.

    , in order to undertake the training delivered in English.

Synopsis

  • The Aerodrome Flight Information Service Officer course comprises theory sessions and practical exercises in which the participant will learn and demonstrate knowledge of AFIS practices and procedures in order to commence field training at an AFIS aerodrome

Objective

  • On completion of this course the student will have the required knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) necessary to be awarded an Aerodrome Flight Information Service Officer Certificate, in order to undergo field training in an operational environment to perform AFIS Officer (AFISO) duties

Assessment

  • The course includes written examinations to assess learning and practical assessments to assess competence in each unit. Each examination/ assessment is conducted in a controlled environment. Participants are permitted one supplementary examination/assessment (re-sit) per module
