ICAO 054T APPROACH CONTROL SURVEILLANCE

Prerequisites

  • • Hold a General Secondary Certificate or equivalent foreign certificate
    with a pass result of not less than 70%.
    • Demonstrate fluency in the English language to IELTS 5.5 or above in
    order to satisfy the requirements of ICAO English Language Level 4; and
    • Hold an approved ICAO 051 ATC Assistant/Basic Induction course
    certificate.
    • Hold a medical certificate as prescribed by the authority regulation in
    the State of licence issue.

Synopsis

  • The Approach Control Surveillance course comprises theory sessions
    and practical simulation exercises in which the participant will learn
    and demonstrate knowledge of ATC practices and procedures in order
    to commence field training in an Approach Control Surveillance unit for
    ICAO Licensing purposes.

Objective

  • On completion of this course the participant will have the required
    knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) necessary to commence on-thejob
    training in an Approach Control Surveillance unit for ICAO licensing
    purposes.

Assessment

  • The course includes written examinations to assess learning and practical
    assessments to assess competence in each unit. Each examination/
    assessment is conducted in a controlled environment. Participants are
    permitted one supplementary examination/assessment (re-sit) per module.
